MEDOR has merged with its sister company Stoð under the unified name STOÐ. The merger took effect in March 2026, and the operations of the combined company are now conducted from its headquarters at Dragháls 14–16 in Reykjavík, where Stoð is based.

Stoð is a well‑established healthcare services company, founded in 1982, with a strong focus on comprehensive solutions for individuals and institutions. MEDOR is a leading medical device and laboratory products distributor in Iceland, founded in 2011 to meet the growing demand for specialized sales and service of high‑quality medical devices, nursing products, and laboratory equipment. Both companies are part of the Veritas Group.

Sigtryggur Hilmarsson, who previously served as Managing Director of MEDOR, has assumed the role of Managing Director of the merged company STOÐ as of March 1. Mr. Hilmarsson holds an MBA from Erasmus University, Rotterdam School of Management, a Master of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iceland, and has completed an Executive Management Program at Columbia Business School in New York.

With the merger, the company’s operations are further strengthened through increased integration and improved services. Customers now have access to a broader range of products and services, as well as comprehensive, end‑to‑end solutions in the fields of healthcare and research.

The company will continue to place strong emphasis on professional consulting, sales, and service of high‑quality research and nursing products, as well as medical, assistive, and orthopedic equipment.

The MEDOR technical department will continue to operate unchanged at Miðhraun 4, and Distica will continue to manage the sales and distribution of the company’s products to healthcare institutions, companies, and research laboratories, as before.
